A thank-you letter from Ms. Shen, a proprietor of Lake and View in Lin’an District, Hangzhou, surprisingly arrived at Binjiang Property just after the Spring Festival of the Year of the Dragon. Ms. Shen was very moved by Binjiang Property staff who helped investigate the case of the clogged pipe in her bathroom before the Spring Festival and thus wrote the thank-you letter to express her gratitude to the property management service center. At the beginning of the letter, Mr. Shen also specifically mentioned that under the leadership of project director Zhang Kang, the property management team has acquired a completely new outlook and the property management service has improved a lot.
What bothered Ms. Shen? On the 28th day of the final lunar month which was a time of bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new, the toilet on the third floor of Ms. Shen’s house suddenly got clogged, which made her extremely annoyed. She called the engineering section to ask if they knew the phone number of any professional plumber. To her surprise, the engineering section offered to come and see if they could help solve the problem in the first place. Ms. Shen could feel the implication that “the property management team won’t let proprietors spend extra money, time or energy on problems that can be solved by the property management team”.
That night, Huang Chuanbin, the engineering director, arrived at the proprietor’s house to find the cause of the blockage and then searched for the drawings left by the real estate developer overnight. The next morning, he and another three engineers from the engineering section braved the snow to check the pipeline. They worked from early morning until seven in the evening and were soaking wet with sweat, rain, and sewage. Ms. Shen and her family members all felt sorry for them, but they regarded it as no big deal and said, “It’s a comfort to us that you can have a peaceful Spring Festival.”
At the end of the thank-you letter, Ms. Shen mentioned that facing such tough, tiring, and dirty work, instead of simply giving her the phone number of a professional plumber, which is very understandable, the property management staff chose to “take on the challenge”. The property management team showed a spirit so rare that it has changed Ms. Shen’s perception of property management. Ms. Shen thinks highly of the positive energy sent out by the property management staff and believes that a strong sense of responsibility, technical excellence, and earnestness and dedication are all part of the Binjiang spirit.

The engineering team of the residential quarter is an all-male team. Ms. Shen’s recognition of their quick response is a huge encouragement to the team members. “It is our job to proactively help proprietors in urgent need with our expertise and within our capabilities. Our services for proprietors are not only to meet proprietors’ needs but also to fulfill our own value,” said engineering director Huang.
